DESCRIPTION:Norbeck Society November meeting on prescribed fire – “What does it take to implement a prescribed fire?” \nNorbeck Society meets on Thursday\, November 9th 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time for an evening Zoom with Chris Stover\, Forest Fuels Specialist\, Supervisor’s Office\, Black Hills National Forest. \nChris’s career in Fire and Fuels is relatively unique in that he has worked in Fuels the vast majority of his time with the Forest Service and on the same Forest his entire career.\nAlthough his career with the Forest Service began in 2003 as a timber marker\, in 2004 he gained a position as an Assistant Engine Captain and in 2007 he started as a Fuels Technician. From 2012 to March of 2021\, he served as an Assistant Fire Management Officer-Fuels…all on the Mystic District.\nSince March 2021 he has worked in the Supervisor’s Office as the Forest Fuels Specialist.\nThe main presentation will follow a brief update.\nPublic Meeting ~ everyone is welcome!\nFor more information: info@norbecksociety.com.
