DESCRIPTION:The Army Corps opened the comment period on the draft DAPL EIS on September 8\, 2023. The comment period will close at 11:59 PM ET December 13\, 2023. \nhttps://www.nwo.usace.army.mil/Missions/Dam-and-Lake-Projects/Oil-and-Gas-Development/Dakota-Access-Pipeline/ \nThe U.S. Army Corps of Engineers\, Omaha District is seeking public comments on the recently published Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Dakota Access\, LLC’s request for an easement under the Mineral Leasing Act for the Dakota Access Pipeline. The Dakota Access Pipeline crosses the Corps-managed federal land at Lake Oahe\, North Dakota. The DEIS is not a decision and does not authorize the easement. This milestone is the second step in the National Environmental Policy Act environmental review process for a range of proposed alternatives. This will be followed by a Final Environmental Impact Statement.
