SUMMARY:Deadline to comment on the SD GFP's Draft rewrite of their Wildlife Action Plan
DESCRIPTION:June 20th is a “sort of”   Deadline to comment on the SD GFP’s staff on their Draft rewrite of their Wildlife Action Plan. \nWe call it a “sort of” as the Commission will act to approve it\, likely at the July or September Commission meeting \nThe federal government requires states to do this plan every 10 years if they want to get various federal funds.  This will be at least SD’s 3rd version of a Wildlife Action Plan.  The proposed Recovering America Wildlife Act\, (which is stalled in current GOP controlled congress) is tiered\, in part\,  to these plans. \nYou need to go to the GFP Wildlife Action Plan’s web page to download current version or proposed revision..\nhttps://gfp.sd.gov/wildlife-action-plan\nCurrently there is just a one sentence note that they are revising the plan\, in white text on a brown background\nclick on those white words to download the new draft revision.\n(These are plans the federal government requires them to do every 10 years to qualify for federal funds)\nLink to draft revision:\nhttps://gfp.sd.gov/UserDocs/docs/SDWAP_complete_draft_9_Apr_2025.pdf\n\n\nTo  comment go here:\nhttps://gfp.sd.gov/forms/positions/\nFind the Wildlife Action  Plan and select other and type your comment.\n====================\nWe have not yet read it to advise you of commenting issues\, however once published this is a great resource to learn about our at risk species & their habitats\, so all should learn how to find it\, download its’ final version and visit the interactive web pages on GFP web site.
