La Creek National Wildlife Refuge Fieldtrip May 2nd

Rapid City – car pool meets & organizes at 7:30 a.m. – Eastside Family Fare (Family Thrift) parking lot. We also meet again at 11:00 a.m. at the LaCreek NWR refuge headquarters (some people come from other towns or camp-out).  We believe it is a 2 and 1/2 hour trip from Rapid City to LaCreek.

Sponsored by the Black Hills Group of the Sierra Club and Prairie Hills Audubon Society.  This field trip happens every year, either the first or second Saturday in May.  

Please bring food and water. There is no food at the refuge.    We normally engage in some group walks while birding and  drive around the refuge while making birding stops. Different cars will leave the Refuge to return at different times, some earlier than others.
