April 27, 2022 Western South Dakota Hydrology Conference Plus Call for Speakers Deadline Feb 4

April 27, 2022


The 2022 Western South Dakota Hydrology Conference will be held on Wednesday
April 27, 2022 at the Monument (formerly “Rushmore Plaza Civic Center”) in Rapid
City. This email serves as an abstract call (speakers and posters), vendor call, and field
trip leader call for the 2022 conference.


Registration information:
Registration information will be available in February 2022 at the conference website
(www.usgs.gov/WSDHC). Professional development hours (or continuing education
credits) will be available to interested participants for sessions or field trips attended.
Planned registration fees for professionals are $75, and registration will be free for
students and general public with the option to purchase lunch for $20.
Potential speakers and poster presenters:
Abstracts for oral presentations will be accepted through February 4, 2022. Poster
abstracts will be accepted through April 8, 2022. Abstracts concerning any earth science
topic are welcomed, as are student presentations and posters. All speakers and poster
presenters will be required to pay conference registration fees unless they have student
status. All speakers will be notified of abstract acceptance by February 11, 2022. When
submitting an abstract to the conference, please indicate whether oral presentation or
poster is preferred.


Potential vendors:
Limited vendor space is available on a first-come, first-served basis for the vendor
registration fees listed below. Wireless internet and electricity available at no charge.
Vendor registration will be available in February 2022 at the conference website.
Non-Profit Organization ($75): Booth space and conference registration for one person
(including lunch).
General Level ($200): Booth space and conference registration for one person (including
lunch).
Break Sponsor Level ($400): Booth space, conference registration for one person
(including lunch), acknowledgement in conference book, and announcement at break.
Evening Social Sponsor ($100+): No booth space. Donation of any amount (minimum
$100) to help with food/beverage expenses. Includes acknowledgement in conference
book and signage at evening social.
Field trip leaders:
If you are interested in leading or hosting a field trip at any location within the Black
Hills area on April 28-29, 2022, please contact Galen Hoogestraat with your trip idea.
This is a great way to showcase your company or organization’s research, innovations,
technology, and more in a field setting.
