“The Antelope Canyon project area is located approximately 15 miles south of the city of Custer, SD,
and 7 miles northwest of Hot Springs, SD. The eastern boundary of the project area borders Wind
Cave National Park,”
“This project is designed to create and maintain a wildfire resilient and sustainable forest with a
combination of non-commercial and commercial treatments designed to protect communities
by lowering the intensity, severity, and effects of a wildland fire while providing a healthy forest
and continuing to provide wildlife habitat.”

5.4 Big Game Winter Range Emphasis as identified in the Black Hills Land and Resource
