The EPA proposed a rule to rescind its 2024 regulatory determinations for four PFAS substances (PFHxS, PFNA, HFPO-DA/GenX, and a hazard index mixture) under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). This action—is alleged to be driven by procedural/legal corrections rather than new health data—would remove the Maximum Contaminant Levels (MCLs) and related monitoring requirements for these specific chemicals.
