Earth Day, April 22nd, 2023

On April 22, 2023 from 10am-4pm, the Rapid City Sustainability Committee, Dakota Rural Action, and Western Dakota Technical College will be hosting the 2023 Earth Day Expo and Celebration on the WDTC Campus. They are hosting this event as a part of an international sustainability partnership grant with Rapid City’s Sister City in Apolda, Germany. The vision for Earth Day 2023 is to educate our community on the value of adopting a sustainable lifestyle.
They will be welcoming Rapid City’s sister city partners to the WTDC campus on April 22nd with a community-wide event that will include the following:
- Education and Vendor Expo
- Environmental Film Screenings
- Activities & Crafts for the Kids and Adults
- Electric Vehicle Car Show
- Grand Opening of the WTDC Geothermal Greenhouse (with greenhouse tours)
- Sustainability Speakers & Workshops
- Recycled Electronics Collection with EchoWorks
- Prescription Drug and Sharps Collection Site
- Discount Tree Sale
- Music
