Endangered Species Day Celebration – 2024

Endangered Species Day is always the third Friday in May. The day is set by Congress
Our western SD celebration will begin at 6 pm MT on 5/17/24, by Zoom and end by 9 pm MT
We will have several speakers, who will talk about federal and state listed threatened and endangered species.
Speakers will include Chris Swanson (USFWS) & Eileen Dowd Stuckel (SDGFP) who will talk about listed species & efforts by USFWS’s & SDGFP’s, for endangered and threatened species and other species at risk in SD. We may also have speakers from Lower Brule Sioux Tribe and Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe on their efforts for for endangered and threatened species and other at-risk species. These tribal speakers are tentative, and not fully confirmed yet (check back to verify confirmation).
