They are actually polite and if you forgot to register to testify, they ask at the end of each segment, if anyone not registered wants to testify.

Often some fur-bearer season rule change proposals are presented at the May Commission meeting, but they are none shown on the agenda thus far..
At Commission meetings at 2 pm they often have hearings on proposed changes to administrative rules (hunting /fishing/trapping seasons) and there will be two finalizations this month (see agenda). They always have an “Open Forum” after the hearing. You can testify for 3 minutes on each proposed rule change and for three minutes at the “Open Forum”. At the “Open Forum”, you can raise any issue. As these meetings are hybrid, you can testify in person or by Zoom.
We ask folks to testify against the Coyote Bounties, the Nest Predator Bounty Program (renamed to Youth Trapping Recruitment Program) and SD trapping rules that allow 3 and partial day trap check time for West River land sets, 2 and a partial day trap check time for East River land sets and 5 and a partial day trap check time for water sets or that trapper ID should be required. If you want, testify against hound hunting of mountain lions. If you want testify for use of science in decision making and not mythology.
We will discuss these issues at our Zoom meeting on April 29th, 2026.
