National Public Lands Day- various events, free admission – Sat, 9/27/25
National Public Lands Day event –
Join the nationwide celebration of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) on the fourth Saturday of September. This most extensive single-day volunteer effort for public lands, a signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), unites individuals and communities to improve and enjoy our treasured outdoor spaces. Since 1994, NPLD has inspired millions to contribute to the preservation of America’s public lands, fostering a deeper connection with nature.
National Public Lands Day is also designated as a Fee-Free Day, granting free admission for visitors to national forests, parks, refuges, and rangelands across the US. Some public lands may have special events –
The National Park Service announced that National Public Lands Day will allow free admission to all national parks.
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service lands that normally charge an entrance fee will have free admission,
The Forest Service waives recreation fees at most day-use sites on lands managed by the agency.
