North Dakota’s Governor decides on hunting seasons after reviewing recommendations by the wildlife agency.

Hunting season are set via Governor’s Proclamation (https://ndlegis.gov/cencode/t20-1c08.pdf)

All proclamations are published online and can be found here https://gf.nd.gov/hunting/proclamations.

The Wildlife agency will send those recommendations off in mid July.   There is no formal comment deadline. We just suggest 2 weeks early so staff has time to read them and think about them.

As of late May, no changes were thought to be planned from last years season. Both cougars and otters will be reviewed.
