Western SD Environmental and Hydrology Conference 4/16/2026

Registration is now open for the 2026 Western South Dakota Environmental and Hydrology Conference held April 16, 2026, at the Monument in Rapid City. A preliminary program is posted on the conference registration website and will be updated as needed, and a copy is also attached to this email.
Registration fees are $85 for professionals and $30 for students or general public, with lunch included in the price of registration. To submit a single payment for multiple attendees, just select the number of “tickets” you wish to buy, and please complete the contact information for every person attending. A receipt will be emailed to the address used to complete the payment. Please note if you are a speaker or poster presenter, you do NOT need to register for the conference.
Need continuing education credit? Earn up to 8 professional development hours (PDH) for attending the full-day conference. If you’re a certified floodplain manager (CFM), this conference has been preapproved for 7.5 continuing education credits (CECs) by ASFPM.

Non-Profit/Government ($150): Booth space and conference registration for two attendees (including lunch).

General ($250): Booth space and conference registration for two attendees (including lunch).

Break / Evening Social Sponsor ($100+): No booth space. Donation recommendation for “Silver” level is $250 and “Gold” level is $500 to help with food/beverage expenses during breaks. Includes acknowledgement in the program and at the conference.
Poster presenters:
Sponsors are still accepting abstracts for poster presentations through March 31, 2026. Poster abstracts can be submitted here.
Workshop:
In coordination with the conference, SD Water Resources Institute will be hosting a professional development workshop (for 2 PDH credits) on the responsible and ethical use of large language models in environmental and hydrologic practice. This workshop will be held at SD Mines the morning after the conference. Please see attached workshop document for more information.
