Deadline for candidates to submit some candidate nominating petitions in SD

March 26th is the deadline for candidates for election to statewide offices, county offices & some municipal and school board elections to submit candidate nominating petitions. Municipalities and school boards can select from 3 options for election dates and thus can have one of three candidate nominating petition submission deadlines. Go to the SD Secretary of State’s web site for more information, or call your counties, municipalities or school boards.

The deadline is 5 pm at the location candidate is submitting to or sent by registered mail postmarked by deadline date and time.
