Deadline for Chapters to submit grant applications to National Audubon Society
Deadline for Chapters to Submit grant applications to National Audubon Society.
Prairie Hills Audubon Society (PHAS) is a chapter of the National Audubon Society (NAS). We share with them normally about 260 joint members and get an automatic grant award of $565 dollars each year. Other funds that PHAS has, we get as donations from members/friends or for Chapter-only members dues share.
National Audubon allows us in the fall to apply for Collaborative Grants ( $1,000) and Actions Grants ($5,000-15,000). However applications must win in competition with other chapter grant applications and must be consistent with the type of projects, on the topics that NAS wants to give grant awards for. PHAS does a lot of work and has many conservation campaigns, but these are not always on the topics NAS wants to award $$ for. PHAS workers are all volunteers and must
have the time to shoulder any additional grant duties. Grants can involve partner groups in addition to PHAS.
The deadline to submit grants is some time on Sunday, November 23rd. We don’t know if that is midnight EST (where NAS is) or some other time-of-day.
